PREPARING FOR AMAZON
If you’ve ever been through an Amazon restock, you know it can go fast. Even when Amazon requires a Prime membership to purchase an item - it sells out quickly. Part of the reason: millions of people have Amazon Prime.
Many also have Amazon Prime Credit Cards, which gives 5% back for all purchases on the website.
When Amazon restocks PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, they require a Prime membership. Here’s the kicker, though: free trials still work! You don’t have to be a paying member.
Free Trials for Amazon Console Drops
Amazon Prime 30-Day Trial
Prime Student 6-Month Trial
Amazon has restocked consoles most often between the hours of 10AM-1PM Eastern Time. Amazon has just one more week to actually follow through and sell Disc PlayStation 5 consoles before the New Year! I’ll be watching closely. If it’s going to happen, the earlier part of the week is most likely.
I alert instantly on Twitter when an Amazon PS5 or Xbox restock begins! Have notifications ON to ensure you’re alerted to restock Tweets in time.
Like most online retail restocks, Amazon drops begin suddenly and without warning - that’s what Twitter alerts are for!
Amazon drops are especially tricky, more often than not, so I provide real-time updates and I may post different links that work better at different times. Be prepared for that!
You have to KEEP trying as long as retail prices show in order to have a chance of getting through.
BUYING STRATEGIES FOR AMAZON
Select the link in my Tweet alert! When you get to the Product Page, tap or click the “Add to Cart” button repeatedly. It may not work at first - that’s normal!
Keep attempting to add to cart if you have the option. The site gets throttled due to accelerated web traffic, like many retail websites (like Target).Download the Amazon app! In recent months, the mobile app has been useful when the website fails. When you select my Tweeted link and it opens the mobile app, keep tapping the Add to Cart button!
If you’re able to add to cart on PC or on the website, you may be able to check out through the app - be signed into your Amazon Prime account on both mobile and PC, if you have the option!Use my Add to Cart links! During a restock, I may post “ATC” links. These links skip the Product Page, the List - everything - and adds the item directly to your cart. There are multiple types of Add to Cart links. I update DURING the restock with the links that are most effective.
If the Add to Cart link doesn’t work at first, try refreshing until it gives you the option to add the console - then go to checkout!Save the item to a LIST. Sometimes, it’s easier to add from a list to your cart instead of adding directly from the Product Page.
This strategy used to be the best option - but I’ve noticed in recent months, the List doesn’t always give the option to move an item to your cart. Save the PS5 and Xbox to your LIST just in case! Better safe than sorry.
Amazon restocks come and go quickly - and usually, there’s no universal strategy to ensure success - so I Tweet CONSTANT updates on the Stock Tracker Twitter Page throughout the restock while it’s active!
I recommend reviewing each strategy listed so you’re prepared to try other methods, if you don’t get through at first. Watch for my Twitter alerts and tips while the drop is live!
Remember: as with ANY PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X drop, it’s NOT the last one! This community will be here before, during, and after - the Stock Tracker Team is here to see you succeed at retail restocks!
