A Quick and Free Guide for Walmart Restocks
Today's Walmart restock for Disc PS5 is confirmed. Here's a guide to help improve your odds of a successful checkout!
Walmart: 4/19 Restock for PS5
Today’s drop at 9AM PT (10AM Mountain / 11AM Central / 12PM Eastern) should be substantial and it will be for paying Walmart+ members only. I’ll notify on Twitter when any console restock goes live!
Here are all the Walmart links - remember that any console over retail price is a 3rd party reseller! When they officially restock, it will be retail price & show “Sold by Walmart” - and there will be a queue!

A detailed guide is provided below to prepare you for the queue system Walmart uses - I’ll live Tweet before and during the restock, sharing tips on Twitter as well!
A quick & detailed overview of Walmart restocks (feel free to keep this open before and during the event):
Walmart restocks are online for shipping only! So no in-store/curbside pickup. You can use either the app or the website - but I personally prefer the website. Have your login, payment, and address all saved before the restock begins! This time, a paid membership is required. Free trials won’t work!
They also use a QUEUE system. I’ll Tweet the console links again before the restock. Important tips regarding the queue listed below! Read carefully.
This is a paying Walmart+ member restock only! If you have a free trial, you need to cancel it in order to create a paid membership to qualify for this event.
Using the PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series X links I provide, I suggest you start to REFRESH your page 30 seconds to one minute BEFORE the restock is scheduled to begin. In one of those refreshes, you will see the QUEUE pop up - with expected wait times provided.
Once you have a wait time, do NOT refresh the page. Just wait. And do NOT have more than one tab in the same browser queued for the exact same console. You can queue for both disc & digital PS5 if available - but NOT two tabs with disc PS5.
When the queue starts, ignore if it says “this item has sold out” - Walmart never sells out right away. Wait for the queue times to start counting down. And again, don’t queue for any one console in multiple tabs! So don’t have two or more disc PlayStation 5 tabs open - this will NOT improve your odds, it will more likely cause your times to reset and risk not getting through.
You can queue for each console separately but if you buy more than one of the same type, expect anything after the first order to be cancelled within 24-48 hours. This is a prevention mechanism to ensure more customers have a chance to get a console.
When you get a console into your cart, Walmart gives 10 minutes to check out. But it can still sell out - so this is why you’ll want to have payment & shipping information all set before the restock, to speed up the checkout process.
Note: There is a common error with the queue that doesn’t have a universal solution - wait times can get stuck. If your queue gets stuck at a specific time, like 1 or 10 minutes, you have a few options available.
The safest suggestion is to simply wait.
A potentially useful alternative, though - open a separate tab to go to the Walmart Homepage. This MAY give you the option to add to cart, if you’ve been stuck at 1 or 10 minutes in the queue (for example). You can also try opening the app, if your wait time on the web browser is stuck. The queue is tricky when wait times start having issues counting down, but these are a couple suggestions to consider if it happens to you.
Nothing is a universal fix in this case! Sometimes, the queue wait times will reset no matter what you do. If you want the safest option, you can choose to wait and hope the wait time that is stuck eventually starts to decrease. This is also why I suggest queuing for both the digital & disc PS5 versions, if available.Keep me updated on Twitter throughout the drop if you like! I will update throughout the event and problem-solve with you - but it’ll get pretty busy! If I can’t respond individually for certain issues, I may post a general tweet to answer questions more broadly. I want to see as many of you succeed today as possible!
Retailer systems for managing console and other in-demand item restocks are far from perfect. But reading about them and preparing to the best of your ability will always improve your odds of success!
As with any and all restocks, be sure to have an account set up for the major retailers and have your login & payment information SAVED.
And of course, if you want to be notified the moment a console restock begins - be sure you’re following me on Twitter! I’ll be live-tweeting the whole event, providing support before, during, and after the Walmart restock. Also remember - there will be more restocks soon. This is just the first of the week!
